ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The role of Scoreboard Carrier role will involve carrying and updating the manual update the score in the game you are assigned to. Scoreboard Carriers can be expected to carry out the following duties:

  • Prepare the manual scoreboard prior to the round you are scheduled to work, ahead of carrying a manual scoreboard around the 18 holes per day you are allocated.
  • Liaising with the Walking Scorer and Referee to keep players scores up to date on the carry board for the benefit of spectators.

 

EXPERIENCE

  • Golf/general event experience would be beneficial.
  • Interest/ understanding in golf is essential.

 

SKILLS

  • The role requires individuals to be on their feet for 18 holes, averaging about 6 hours per day. You are required to carry the board for 18 holes per day.
  • Self-motivated and proactive.
  • Good communication skills.
  • A knowledge of golf or The Open is desirable but not essential.
