Due to a full order book and increased workload, our client is looking for skilled cabinet makers / bench hand joiners to join their team.

The successful candidates must be punctual and reliable. The role involves producing high-end joinery, specialist furniture and shop fitting elements, with a strong emphasis on quality and detail.

Working in a small workshop environment, it is essential to be highly organised with excellent communication skills. The ability to follow technical drawings, with attention to detail and the understanding of working with different materials. To be efficient and confident in using hand tools and joinery machinery, with safe working practices. Also to be self-motivated and have the ability to continue your work alone, or as part of a team, within specific and required time frames.

Requirements:

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work
  • Skilled with woodworking machinery and hand tools, including panel saw, planers, thicknesser, edge bander, and various finishing tools
  • Experience with hardwood, softwood, plywood, veneered boards, veneers, laminates, and solid surfaces
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting design drawings and plans
  • Experience in veneering, laminating, and edge banding
  • Strong knowledge of hardware, glues, fixings, and fittings
  • Good knowledge of health and safety procedures
  • To have good time keeping and always show respect and be courteous towards all colleagues.
  • Have the capabilities to work alone or within a team, on either small or large projects.
  • An ability to understand working drawings, create and plan a system of work and manufacture the given item.
  • Proactively be thinking numerous steps ahead within the manufacturing of the item and foresee the best method in which to proceed.
  • To carry out and complete any reasonable ad-hoc tasks or requests as directed by your manager.

Person Specification:

  • Reliable and punctual
  • Ability to prioritise, plan, and manage time effectively
  • Self-motivated with good communication skills
  • Conscientious with a desire to learn and progress
  • A valid CSCS Card is beneficial
  • Willingness to work extra hours when necessary
  • Minimum 5 years of experience
  • Full, clean UK driving license is beneficial
